Happy Hour – Mental Wellbeing Awareness Program

On December 19, 2024, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m., a Happy Hour session was conducted to promote mental health and stress management among undergraduates. Organized by postgraduate students of the University of Colombo, the session included activities, an engaging lecture on mental health, and practical tips for stress management. Students found the event transformative and informative, fostering a healthier approach to well-being. The resource person of the workshop was Mrs. Maj Vishmika De Silva ,MPhil in Clinical Psychology-University of Colombo MSc in Organizational Management-University of Peradeniya ,BA special in psychology-University of Peradeniya. There were 60 students participated from different faculties of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

INSPIRA’24 Magazine Launch

The INSPIRA’24 magazine officially launched on December 19, 2024, at the Senate Boardroom of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Pathmalal M. Manage, graced the event alongside the Dean of the Faculty of Medical Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Graduate Studies, and the Director of the Career Guidance Unit of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Dr.Eranga Jayasekara. The magazine, centered on the theme “Mental Health at the Workplace” was the final initiative summing up the World Mental Health Day program series-Inspira’24 organized by the Values of the Wise Society of the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.

Inspira Magazine is designed to be a platform for students, faculty, and staff to share stories, insights, and resources related to holistic development, mental health, and career readiness.

The magazine will serve as a dynamic resource for inspiring and empowering individuals across the university, offering content that encourages reflection, growth, and action in both academic and personal spheres.
